DUBAI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed solidarity with India following the tragic crash of an Indian Air Force Tejas fighter jet at the Dubai Air Show on Friday, which resulted in the death of the pilot.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended its “deepest condolences and sincere sympathies” to the bereaved family, as well as to the government and people of India. The statement highlighted the UAE’s support during this difficult time.

Also, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, expressed his sadness over the incident.

Tejas crash at Dubai Airshow

The Tejas aircraft crashed while performing manoeuvres as part of the airshow’s flying display. Relevant emergency teams responded immediately to the incident and have been managing the situation on-site. No civilian injuries were reported.

Indian officials have confirmed that a court of inquiry has been established to investigate the cause of the accident.
